Nextant 400XTi: The Pinnacle of Business Jet Remanufacturing

Nextant Aerospace: Pioneers in Aircraft Remanufacturing

Nextant Aerospace, a US-based entity, has carved a niche for itself by specializing in the remanufacturing of business jets. Established in 2007, it was the first to introduce the concept of aircraft remanufacturing to the business jet market, setting a new standard in aviation.

Introducing the Nextant 400XTi

The flagship product of Nextant Aerospace is the Nextant 400XTi. This marvel is a modernized and enhanced version of the Beechjet 400A/XP. What makes it stand out is its competitive price, almost half of other models with similar features and specifications. The 400XTi is not just about cost savings; it’s about superior performance and advanced features.

Key Features and Specifications

The Nextant 400XTi is powered by the robust 3,050-pound-thrust Williams FJ44-3AP Full Authority Digital Engine Controls (FADEC) turbofan engines. It boasts a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21™ integrated avionics suite. The aircraft has undergone multiple aerodynamic and airframe enhancements, including a streamlined engine cowling and a robust engine beam and mounting system.

Nextant 400XTi Cabin and Comfort

Comfort is paramount in business jets, and the 400XTi doesn’t disappoint. It offers various seating configurations, a Rockwell Collins Venue cabin management system, entertainment equipment, LED lighting, and provisions for Internet and satellite phone access.

Performance Metrics

The aircraft impresses with a cruising speed of 460 knots (850 kilometers per hour) and a National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) IFR range of 2,005 nautical miles (3,713 kilometers) with four passengers. When compared to the Beechcraft 400A, the 400XTi offers a 50 percent increase in range, 32 percent better fuel efficiency, and a 29 percent reduction in operating costs. It also exceeds Stage IV noise compliance requirements.

The Journey of the Nextant 400XTi

The 400XTi’s journey began with its first test flight in March 2010. By October 2011, it had received its final certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Deliveries commenced the same month, with a significant order from private aviation company Flight Options LLC. In 2014, an upgraded version of the aircraft was introduced, further solidifying its position in the market.

Remanufacturing: The Nextant Way

Nextant’s approach to aircraft remanufacturing is unique. Unlike mere refurbishments, Nextant’s process is factory-based and designed for serialized production. The 6,000 man-hour remanufacturing process brings all life-limited components to zero-time status. As a result, the 400XTi is considered a new type in the Aircraft Bluebook. This meticulous process allows Nextant to offer a two-year whole aircraft warranty, pilot training, and a comprehensive service network.

Nextant 400XTi Operational History and Market Reception

The 400XTi has been well-received in the market. It can cruise at speeds between Mach 0.75-0.78 and is comfortable for nearly five-hour flights. Its fuel efficiency and operational reliability have made it a favorite among operators. By the end of 2014, Nextant had completed 50 aircraft, with a high dispatch reliability rate. The aircraft’s resale value remains impressive, further testifying to its quality and market demand.

Other Notable Offerings from Nextant

While the 400XTi remains a flagship product, Nextant Aerospace has other notable offerings. The Nextant G90XT, for instance, is a remanufactured Beech King Air with significant upgrades. Another noteworthy product is the 604XT, based on the Bombardier Challenger 604, which was introduced with advanced features in 2017.
